Ski touring

Ovronnaz offers two unmarked and unsafe ski touring areas.

The first is the Loutze area, which is easy to access and requires no special knowledge. The routes start from the Tourbillon car park (Nordic centre) and end at the Loutze refreshment bar.

The second area, which is alpine and can present a major avalanche hazard, links the Euloi region to the Dent de Morcles, via Fenestral. This sector can be reached using the Jorasse and Col chairlifts (special passes).

For safety reasons, ski touring is prohibited on the ski runs. Ski touring routes are not protected against mountain hazards (avalanches, falls, etc.)!

Safety instructions
Ski tourers should be aware that :

  • After each snowfall, avalanches are triggered. It is therefore strictly forbidden to enter the entire ski area.
  • Grooming is generally carried out at night. The grooming machines are equipped with winches with a steel cable that can be unwound over a length of more than 1,000 m. These small-diameter cables are not visible at night. Hikers should avoid the ski area during the grooming operation.
