Many thanks to Marie-Jo Maillard and her entire team for this magnificent trail.
The old stables of Saille appear below, and the trail continues its ascent towards the Rambert Hut, reaching the Pierre à Vatserou. Seated on this imposing rock, the chief shepherd used to watch over his flock.
Discover the Jorasse chairlift and its breathtaking view of the majestic Muverans and the Dent Favre, offering a unique opportunity to begin your adventure toward the summit. Follow the winding path through elegant larch trees toward the Petit Pré d’Euloi. Here, the slope steepens, and a rich, varied flora accompanies you all the way to the spectacular cross of La Seya, the highest point of this hike at 2,182 meters above sea level.
From the summit, a 360° panorama unfolds, revealing Ovronnaz at your feet, followed by Leytron and the vast Rhône plain. You can admire no fewer than thirty-five peaks soaring above 4,000 meters, from the imposing Finsteraarhorn to the shimmering Mont Blanc crowned by its snowy dome. Don't miss the chance to explore this landscape with binoculars and cameras to capture unforgettable memories.
The route offers two options: the shorter option brings you back to Jorasse via the same path. For those seeking a greater challenge and a complete experience, the trail continues south along a clear ridge leading to Grand'Garde. There, you’ll be captivated by the endless view from one summit to another and the meandering course of the Rhône, perhaps trying to identify distant towns and villages. The marked trail then leads you through the alpine pastures of Quieu and Odonne, eventually bringing you back to Ovronnaz.
For visitors wishing to shorten the hike, a shortcut is available halfway between La Seya and Grand'Garde. The shortcut is clearly indicated on the yellow signposts.

The Seya Cross
Camille Michellod, who died in 1984, never saw his "Cross", which he dedicated to the young people of Leytron and to all skiers for their protection. In memory of "La Mission" in 1992, the cross was finally erected, financed in part by numerous generous donors. It is known as "La Croix de la Mission", but the cross remains unquestionably "La Croix à Camille".
