A perfect day in Ovronnaz takes a bit of planning… but not too much. The idea? Make the most of the ski area while keeping some energy for après-ski.
Here is the ideal itinerary, according to the Tourist Office, to ski all the slopes.
8:50 AM – Ready at the starting line
It’s 8:50 AM. Boots are buckled, skis are on, and the air is still fresh. We’re waiting at the chairlift, ready to be among the first to go up.
Once at the top, for those who need a warm-up run, a ride down Col Express is perfect to get the legs going gently. The sensations come back, the turns follow one another, and the day is officially underway.
For those in a hurry (or already fully warmed up), head straight to the Tsantonnaire drag lift. At this hour, the slope is still perfectly groomed. It’s the ideal moment to carve on the fresh tracks left by the snow groomer. Pure bliss.
11:00 AM – The big descent
Late morning is approaching. It’s time to aim for a run all the way down to the bottom of the chairlift.
Two options:
-
via Col Express for a more progressive descent
-
via the Châtillon black slope for the more athletic skiers looking for thrills
Your legs might start to burn, but the smile remains.
12:00 PM – One last run before the break
Before taking the skis off, enjoy one or two final runs on Bougnogne. A great way to end the morning.
Then it’s time to head to the Jorasse restaurant for a well-deserved lunch.
2:00 PM – An afternoon of pleasure
In the afternoon, the pace changes. No need to rush across the ski area anymore: it’s time to revisit your favourite slopes, explore the ones you may have missed in the morning, and take the time to admire the scenery.
4:00 PM – The must-do après-ski
Because a day of skiing never really ends with the last turn…
The fun continues at après-ski. A drink on the terrace, cheeks still rosy from the cold, and conversations about the best run of the day.
