CORNICHE TOUR

Starting from the Tourist Office, follow the paved road towards the Jorasse chairlift. A dirt path opens to the right via Lui Teise: this is the route of the "Petite Corniche" leading to Tourbillon.

Next, follow the path of the Upper Corniche. A wooden sign reading "Corniche" indicates the way. The forest road ascends through the woods halfway up, crosses the Salentse river, then descends to the hamlet of Chou. A road and then a trail allow a return to the resort through Morthey. At the bridge over the Salentse river, ascend along its banks to return to your starting point.

Options to shorten the tour :

  1. Above Lui Teise, take the Saille-Rambert trail in reverse to reach Ovronnaz.
  2. After crossing the Salentse river, follow the forest road of the Corniche up to the level of the Cantonal Sports Center, then descend the Odonne path to reach the road and return to the resort.

Discover the expansive clearing of Chou, enhanced with constructions in its northern part, while delving into its enigmatic origin. The name "Tsou" or "Chou" remains a mystery.

The cross-country ski tracks of the Grande and Petite Corniche are popular during winter, offering picturesque routes.

The avalanche that rushes down the Seya slope traverses the meadows of Chou to join the Salentse river. It's even said that the roof tiles of the former Hotel à Ravasol, at the entrance of Ovronnaz, were carried away during this impressive event at the beginning of the 20th century.
