FROMAGE ET CIME

 

Do you like  Raclette in the mountains? Fromage & Cime is for you! The visit of many high mountain pastures is turning Ovronnaz into a Walliser Raclette-Festival –  Taste the delicious specialities from the region. We welcome you on Sunday September 18th.

A jury of experts award the « Fromage & Cime d’Or » to the best cheese of the official tasting.

About ten cheese makers take part in the event! Music throughout the day, competition for kids, tasting and Jury Award.

Fromage & Cime d’Or (Golden): Alpage de Chaupalin, Les Crosets – Patrice Défago

Fromage & Cime d’Argent (Silver): Alpage de Champoussin – Blaise Perrin

Fromage & Cime de Bronze: Alpage de Tsalan d’Arbaz, au dessus d’Anzère – Frères Sermier

4th place: Alpage de Randonnaz, Fully – Marie-Lise Roduit

5th place: Alpage de Champsot 3, Morgins – Famille Joseph-Marie, dit Jojo, Dubosson

6th place: Alpage de la Pale, Val-d’Illiez – Famille Serge Mariétan

To liven up that day dedicated to cheese, many local other dishes are available :  baker’s oven bread, sausages, jerky, fruit juice, honey etc. Local wine grower will propose several tasty wines.
